Texting and Driving

Most American teenager have cell phones. Most teenagers have cars too. But when a teenager has both a cell phone and car it could get dangerous. Texting and driving is very dangerous. It can cost you your life.

If I were a congress women, and I compose a law that would be reasonable concerning texting and driving it would be harsh. This law will go over texting and driving, drinking and driving, and smoking and driving. If this law is broken the person will serve 170 days in jail. Then 170hours of community service too. The law would be call Think Before you Drive also called TBYD.

Texting and driving and Drinking and driving are not that different. They can both hurt or kill you or other. I think that drinking and driving is more dangerous then texting and driving. I say that because you can control texting on your phone ,but you can’t really control drinking problems. But there both deadly.

A plan that would reduce the use of texting while driving is a new program called dragon. Dragon is a program that you talk to and it types for you. So we can install dragon in the car and plug up our phone in the car. So you would say what you would type and the program will type it for you. So you can still texting and driving but keeping the roads safe at the same time.

In conclusion, I think texting and driving is very dangerous. There are some states that have laws go over texting and driving. Lots of high school students in American have promised not to text and drive. Drinking and driving and smoking and driving is has bad as texting and driving. It can cost you your life

Principles of Design

Balance-

One of an example of principles of design is balance. Balance is really important in a website. For example, there are two kids and you have ten pieces of candy. You give one kid seven pieces. You give three to the other kid . One of the kids would say,  ”They have more than me “.  The pieces of candy are like the links or pictures in a website. You would notice that your website would look very uneven.

Repetition-

Repetition is very important for a website. This is when everything is the same throughout the website. There is also bad repetition. For example, if you went to a library and you pick up a chapter book. You go home and open the book.  You found the book was filled with different fonts sizes and colors. It is good to have repetition in books and on a website.

Website Metaphor

1.  The architectural metaphor of a house is like a website because you will have to think about the design, intention, function, beauty, structure, and movement.

2. The main purpose of a blueprint is to define the beginning the development process.

3. Some important parts of planning a website blueprint are :

- Who is going to use the space?

- Why they are using the space?

- What they can do while they are there?

4. The relationship of usability of a website map and a house blueprint is that the different webpages are your different rooms and the tabs are the different doors to the other webpages.

Color Theory used by Graphic designers

2 football team who’s colors are “Complementary”are:
  • Minnesota Vikings-purple ,Gold
  • Chargers-Blue ,yellow

The combinations that creates the colors Orange, Green and Purple are:

•Red + Yellow = Orange
•Yellow + Blue = Green
•Blue + Red = Purple
The difference between tints and shades is that tints always begin with white and add a bit of color to the white until the desired tint is obtained. Shades always begin with the color and add just a bit of black at a time to get the desired shade of a color.
The neutral colors are Black, white, gray and sometimes brown are considered “neutral”.

CCT-Web Apps Class

I have decided to take this class because I love computers. My mom study computers in high school. She showed me what computers can do.  Then, I signed up for Computer Magnet. My teachers, Mr. Laman and Ms. Adair,  showed me new skills like creating simple websites and  editing pictures and I enjoyed it. One of my websites was music and art theme.  We use Photoshop to crop pictures inside of pictures. So, I decided to sign up for Web Applications and Photo Journalism in my sophomore year and so far it is great.

When this class is completed, I hope to have mastered making great websites, using tools such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop/Fireworks, Blogger tools, Illustrator and more computer skills.  I hope to have mastered these skills because college is hard to pay for. It would be nice to find a part time computer job. I was hoping to get some scholarships to pay for it. Some colleges look for students with great computer skills too.

One project that I am particularly excited to work on is making different websites with graphic design elements. I can not wait to make advanced websites.  I believe one of them is going to be about endangered species, graffiti or food (my favorite dishes). I would like to make a website for some of my family member’s businesses one day in the future or perhaps my own. I am sure that I will learn several skills in this class. I can not wait to  get started.
